bay area girlie finding joy in making things
virtual try-on could show style, but not fit. customers could preview how frames looked, but nothing told them whether the size or nose-bridge would actually work. i partnered with my engineering lead on a true-fit experience combining data-driven size intelligence with visual AI simulation, turning size recommendations into something you could actually see. i also redesigned the layout to support the new selection features.
meta ai glasses spark curiosity, but glasses owners had no easy way to let someone try them without exposing their personal data. i designed the peer demo experience, which lets an owner hand off their glasses and start a demo while keeping their camera roll, messages, and history private the whole time. i led design from a team brainstorm concept to launch, working across engineering, product, marketing, and privacy teams to ship to over 7M users.
word of mouth sells more glasses than any ad, but glasses owners had no simple way to bring a friend in. i designed the referral program, which lets owners give a friend $30 toward their first pair and earn $30 in meta store credit when the friend buys. i led design from concept to launch, working across engineering, product, and marketing teams.
during covid, video calls became the default for everything, and people wanted ways to make them feel less flat and more human. filters didn't yet exist as a way to shape how you showed up on camera, so i designed the feature from scratch – both the experience and the filters themselves: a library of preloaded options, a flow for uploading custom images, and real-time AR effects that tracked to your face and moved with you. tuned to render smoothly on everyday hardware, the filters stayed fun and expressive without taxing the platform, and were used by millions through the pandemic.
as the lead designer for zoom mobile, i owned the experience end-to-end – initiating and shipping projects like video preview updates, filters, CarPlay, and app integrations. i also built out the mobile design system that kept the whole platform consistent.
on zoom rooms, i designed for the spaces where people actually meet. i worked on various new features and launched net-new features like the digital signage. i also set the team's rhythm, starting our weekly critiques, running the research that grounded our calls, and writing the copy guidelines that scaled across the org as it grew 10X.
I led the team behind the nation's largest medical insurance underwriting database – managing 3 analysts and 11 contractors to build and maintain a data environment of exceptional scale and complexity. Working shoulder-to-shoulder with designers and engineers, I helped shape an internal data management platform from the ground up, and launched customer focus groups to keep real user needs at the center of every decision.
